Beauty shot of Ella Davis with hands framing her face, wearing terracotta lipstick and matching orange nails.

This beauty series with Ella Davis, shot and directed by me in London, focuses on clean, luminous makeup looks in tight, unforgiving crops. Across the set she moves through soft pink shadow against a rose backdrop, a warm terracotta lip with matching nails, and bronzed tones with graphic liner and sculptural gold hoops; each look anchored by her strong brows, blue eyes, and glowing skin. Framing hands to the face and keeping styling minimal in a simple white halter, the series puts all the emphasis where beauty work demands it: texture, tone, and detail.

A beauty series with Lydia Sailer, shot start to finish under my direction; concept, casting, styling, lighting, and post. The through-line is skin left honest: no heavy retouching, texture and freckles intact, light kept soft and frontal so the face carries the frame. Styling moves in three beats; sculptural gold drop earrings against a draped ivory neckline, slicked cornrows with slim silver hoops staged over a mirror for a doubled, symmetrical portrait, and a stripped-back bare-shoulder frame where a single stroke of cobalt liner does all the work. Neutral backdrops throughout keep the attention on structure and color, and the restraint is deliberate: every element was chosen to sit under the subject rather than compete with her.

Caelyn with dark hair in a low bun, a red rose tucked behind her ear, wearing a burgundy sleeveless top and bold red lipstick

This beauty shot leans into rich, monochromatic warmth; the deep red rose tucked into Caelyn's low bun, the matching burgundy neckline, and the warm taupe backdrop all work in the same tonal family, letting her sculpted red lip and clean skin become the focal point without any competing color. The three-quarter turn and steady, direct gaze give the image a classic, almost old-Hollywood portrait quality, while the soft, even lighting keeps every detail of the makeup crisp and true to color. It's a refined, editorial take on beauty photography; the kind of shot built to showcase color harmony and finish as much as the face itself.

This beauty shot of Allegra Taddeucci is built around a single, striking color story. The vivid cobalt eyeshadow, blended high into the crease and traced along the lower lash line, is the clear hero of the look, and the cornflower she holds just beneath her chin echoes that exact shade of blue. It’s a smart, deliberate piece of styling: the flower doesn’t just decorate the frame, it visually rhymes with her makeup and draws the eye in a loop between bloom and gaze. Against her warm strawberry-blonde hair and sun-kissed, freckled skin, the cool blue pops even harder, giving the whole image a fresh, almost springlike energy.

The rest of the composition is kept intentionally quiet so that color can do the talking. A clean grey backdrop, a simple white top, soft natural light, and a barely-there pink lip let the eyes and flower carry the entire shot. The gold jewelry, the sculptural irregular hoops and the textured signet-style ring, adds a touch of warmth and editorial polish without competing for attention. Her direct, unsmiling gaze gives it a confident, contemporary editorial feel rather than something overly sweet, and the result reads as a modern take on the classic “single statement color” beauty image.

This beauty shot below strips everything back to the essentials; a bright, seamless white backdrop and soft, wind-tousled hair let the eye land immediately on Caelyn's face, where the bold red lip does all the heavy lifting against an otherwise minimal, all-white palette. The flower stud earring adds just enough texture and detail without pulling focus, while a few loose strands crossing her cheek keep the shot from feeling too clinical or overworked. It's a clean, high-key beauty image built around contrast and precision; the kind of shot that reads as timeless rather than trend-driven.

Great hair can carry an entire frame; and Ollie Grover's is a perfect example. Before this shot, we took the time to style his hair properly, working the texture and shape until it sat exactly right on camera. That attention to detail is part of every session I shoot: grooming and styling aren't afterthoughts, they're built into the process. The result is a clean, polished beauty image where every element, from the swept-back hair to the soft studio light, works together.
